Anita was always very helpful to me when I was doing genealogy research at the Cortland County Historical Society. Her mind was like an encyclopedia. If she did not already know the answer to a question, she always knew where to look for it. She inspired me to continue searching for missing ancestors so that now I have a massive family tree. She was a dear lady!

Anita was a great gal! Retired Manager of the Cortland County Historical Society, she knew everything! AND where it was! She never told me she had been a musician, singer, as am I (she knew I was), going to the top notch Ithaca School of Music! Shortly before she passed away, I spoke to her about the Pavilion grant I was writing and she was sharp as a tack! She also told me that the Homer Avenue garden (which I've been working on) was originally an herb garden! I sent her a get well card and she quickly sent me a thank you note (return address Camillus), her hand writing firm and superb! (Oh that Palmer method our grand children may never know!) Who knew a broken femur bone could do so much harm? We miss you, Anita!

The very first time I met my cousin Anita from Long Island was during a visit to Germany to visit relatives. She was 13 and I was 14. She wrote a poem for me to remember her and her visit. 74 years later I still have her poem. I eventually moved to the U.S, married, and had children. We stayed in touch through years. I will miss our talks. Love Liesel
