Shirley and I spent a lot of time together when we were in 4th grade and beyond at mostly her home in McGraw by the library, a lot of people lived in that same white house like some of my relatives, .uncle Herb & aunt Lois Harris/Janice Towsley-Haven-Fox , Aunt Arberta Pierce just before she passed away! Shirley &I had some good times when Shirley had I has sleepovers and dance parties with our classmates there too! We were friends until we started junior high when she was busy with extra stuff going on, but we always remained friends until one of us left school! I tried to stay in touch with her a few years ago as I knew her husbands family through my then husband Charles H. Batsford, in Moravia and Sempronius, NY ,as they went to school together as well! Her mom was a good cook as well, brothers were always good to me as well! Good memories always, I now live in Penrose, Colorado

So very sorry to hear of Shirley's passing. Doug and Shirley were friends of my parents for a good many years I was so blessed to get to know them and live in the same building. Shirley loved my son and was always bringing him her homemade goodies especially her potato chip cookies. She was truly a wonderful and caring lady. Rest in peace Shirley†Tim, Cherri and Timmy Fellows also my mother Sandy Carter

Q: How did you meet Shirley?
A: I met Shirley in the mid 70s when she & Terry lived in the Haines Development in Scott. Terry & I were friends, and Shirley drove us in her 1970 Dodge Coronet Sedan to the McGraw Fireman Carnival. Terry & I rode on the Tilt-A-Whirl and ended up getting nauseous. She & Terry left the Homer school district in the Summer of '76, but I reconnected with them in 2000. I would learn that Shirley & I had the same gift when it came to the power of psychic empathy. Shirley was a caring person who gave her heart to everyone. I express my deepest condolences to her family.
