Obituary of Zachary Brafman

Zachary M. Brafman was born on October 13, 2002 and was of Cortland County. Zachary, the Son of Kenneth and Carol Brafman, was tragically taken from us on Friday, October 11, 2024. Surviving family are his Mother and Father of Cortland, and Sisters Chelsea (Doug) Nissinoff of Jacksonville, Florida and Meredith Brafman of Smyrna, Delaware. Preceding him in passing was his sister Samantha Brafman. Grandparents Judy Woodward of Longwood, Florida, and John (Trisha) Woodward of Cortland, NY, as well as several aunts, uncles and numerous cousins. Zachary was a Computer Engineering student at Rochester's Institute of Technology. He earned his Associate Degree from Tompkins Cortland Community College concurrently when he graduated high school from Cortland High in 2021. Zachary worked as a Tiger Tech at Cortland High while he was a student there. He completed college internships with Retiina in Owings Mills, Maryland, and Z-Axis in Phelps, NY. Currently he was on Coop with Poseidon Systems, LLC in Victor NY. Zachary Brafman will always be the beloved son and inspiration to all who knew him and there are a lot who did. He was the apple of his mother's eye who lit up her life. He wrote books and played videogames with those he cared about, and he always wanted his friends close together. He loved to tinker on anything tech related and had a knack for fixing most anything broken. He would take old and broken technology, pirate it, make it better and then give it away to others who could use it. His unique sense of humor and wit, kindness, and incredible technological intellect will be dearly missed. Calling hours will be at The Wright-Beard Funeral Home from 4:00-7:00pm on Tuesday, October 15, 2024. Private funeral services will be held on Wednesday.
