Obituary of Sheila Parmon

Sheila Victoria Parmon, 99, of Cortland, N.Y. passed away on October 18, 2024 at the Cortland Park Nursing Center, Cortland, N.Y. Sheila was born December 31, 1924 in Oneida, N.Y. where she grew up and graduated high school. She worked for 41 years at the Department of Defense Military Entrance and Processing Station, which was located on S. Clinton St, Syracuse, N.Y. retiring in 1985 as a budget and accounting assistant. She was predeceased by her husband John (2006) mother Hazel (Schweigel) Snyder, father Charles and a brother William. Sheila was an avid reader and outdoor enthusiast. She spent many summers at their camp on Hatch Lake hosting family and friends, introducing them to water skiing and fishing. Sheila had a deep abiding faith in Jesus Christ and always felt secure in her eternity because of his death and resurrection; 1 Corinthians 15:55, O death where is thy sting? O grave, where is thy victory? She is survived by many nieces and nephews. There will be a short graveside service at Mountain View Cemetery, Herkimer, NY on October 29, 2024 at 11am.
