Obituary of Masako T. Licourt

Masako T. Licourt, 84, formerly of Fulton NY, currently residing in Cortland NY, passed away October 24, 2024 peacefully with her family at her side. She was born January 27, 1940 in Fukuoka, Japan the daughter of the late Heishiro and Kofuyu Takebayashi. Masako came to the United States in the early 1970's. She gained her citizenship in 1981. While living in Fulton for most of her life she worked at various restaurants. She and her husband relocated to Cortland in 2021 to be closer to family. In her spare time she enjoyed many hours at the casino, playing bingo with friends, water walking at the YMCA and spending time with her animals, especially her chihuahua Andrew. She is survived by her husband of 57 years Wilfred F. Licourt Jr., her daughters Shigemi (Joseph III) Ryan and Danielle (Brett) Licourt-Laszewski, grandchildren Joseph P. Ryan IV, Sydney M. (Mason) Ryan, Jack P. Ryan, Marissa N. (Julion) Conklin and Joseph P. Laszewski, great grandsons August and Taytum Conklin. A calling hour will be held Friday, November 1, 2024, 4-5 pm with a memorial service to begin 5 pm at the Wright-Beard Funeral Home inc., 9 Lincoln Ave., Cortland NY, 13045.
