Obituary of Allen A. Howard

Allen Arvine Howard, 72, of Marathon, New York, passed away at home on October 27, 2024 surrounded by his closest family. He was born in Cortland, NY on March 5, 1952 to Arvine and Florence Howard. Allen was loved dearly by his wife Cindy, his five children, Sara, Jacob, Aliesha, Megan, and Emma, his son-in-law, Brandon, his sisters, his brother, and his extended family. Allen was raised in DeRuyter and graduated high school locally. His interest in machinery began at Smith Corona before moving on to receive numerous certifications in machine maintenance and programming. From there, he went to work on machines and build PC boards in Cortland, Endicott, Groton, and Owego, ultimately finishing his career as an electronic supervisor at C&D Assembly in Groton, NY. Although Allen loved his work with machines, seen even in his hobbies of working on vehicles and taking motorcycle trips, his greatest passion was his family. He loved attending sports games, concerts, assemblies, award shows, and more for his children. He loved going on trips to amusement parks every summer with his family, even when he couldn't ride anymore. He loved sitting at home, surrounded by everyone, watching football, watching a movie, or playing a card game. Most of all, he loved making his family smile with his jokes, funny faces, and dance moves. Allen will be deeply missed by his family, friends, and beyond. Calling hours will be held from 12-1 pm on Saturday, November 2, 2024 at the First Baptist Church in Marathon, NY with a Celebration of Life service to follow.
