Obituary of John K. Wallin

John K. Wallin, age 69, passed away on Tuesday, November 11, 2024 at Cortland Park Rehabilitation and Nursing Center, Cortland NY. He was born September 1, 1955 on LI, NY to the late John E. and Joan Wallin. John graduated from Lindenhurst High School, NY. John worked at various jobs through the years. His favorite was working as a DJ for SUNY Cortland 90.5 FM WSUC. While working at the radio station he received the nick name, The Milkman, from Mick Foley. John also drove a cab in Cortland. John's outgoing personality and sense of humor served him well in this job and earned him the name, "The Singing Cabbie". John's experiences as a cabbie inspired him to write and publish a book, Scenes in the Rearview Mirror. John is survived by his sister, Lynn Wallin Wright, his nephew David Wright, both of Connecticut and cousins: Gary Wallin of Albany, NY; Rob Wallin of Poughkeepsie, NY; Michael Wallin of Huntington, NY and Gail Miserandino of Hampton Beach, NH.
