Emma Dassance, 95, of Scott, passed away on December 26, 2024 in Cortland. She was born on April 13, 1929 in Lansing, to her parents the late Jerimiah Lynch and Nola Brown. Emma made her career working at Homer Laundry for many years, as well as Wilson Sporting Goods. She was known as a meticulous seamstress who took great pride in her work. Many evenings she enjoyed spending time at her home working on numerous crocheting projects. Emma made countless baby blanks, baby outfits, afghans, and many gifts for family members and friends. She was a proud member of the VFW, DAV, and Eagles Club, achieving the honor of Golden Eagle. Emma looked forward to family gatherings and picnics and was an excellent cook. However, when it comes to cooking, she was renowned for her baking. Oftentimes bringing baked goods to family holidays. She is survived by her children Johann (Thomas) Allen, Jack (Joyce) Woodford, Brian (Kelly) Barber, and Robin(William) Hilsinger-Little; as well as several, grandchildren, great grandchildren, and great- great grandchildren. In addition to her parents, Emma is predeceased by her loving husband Richard Dassance, her son Cecil Andrew Barber, her daughter Marietta O'Shea, and her step-daughter Dawn Caughey.
