Obituary of David J. Brown

David J. Brown David J. Brown, 87, of Homer NY , passed away on Sunday, December 29, 2024 at Guthrie Cortland Medical Center surrounded by his family. David was born on May 8, 1937 in McLean, NY. He is the son to the late Isabelle and Irving Brown. David worked at Brewer Titchener, later known as Cooper's, for almost 44 years as a Tool and Die Maker. He loved to ride motorcycles and go snowmobiling. He was fond of country music and especially enjoyed listening to George Jones and dancing. He loved watching his favorite football team, Green Bay Packers, along with Nascar racing. He had a great liking for cats who he adored. David was an extraordinary individual who will be sadly missed by his family and friends. He is survived by his loving wife of 36 years Lillian L. Brown and his son David J. Brown Jr. and his daughters Lori ( Terry) Sullivan of Cortland and Roxanne Gordon of Long Island, NY. Along with Pamela D. Taylor-Machukas and Carolyn Sue Taylor-Peterson (Skip) both of Homer, NY. He is survived by his sister's Virginia (Bob) Ackley of Richford, NY and Linda (Jim) Glover of Cortland, NY. David had 16 grandchildren and many great-grandchildren. David is predeceased by his parents Isabelle and Irving Brown and his brother's Alan (Sparky) Brown, John (Ethel) Brown ,Tommy Brown and Bill Randall and also sister's Ina Randall and Mary McCarthy and Grace (Peter) Constantini and Christine Brown. His daughter, Karen L.Taylor, and grandson Samuel “Sammy” Brown. Calling hours are Thursday, January 2, 2025 from 2-4pm at Wright-Beard Funeral Home in Cortland NY with his funeral the following day, Friday, January 3, 2025 at 11am . Burial will be at the Glenwood Cemetery in Homer, NY at a later date. The family would like to thank Guthrie Cortland Medical Center ER, 2S, ICU, 2C for the compassionate care of our loving Husband, Father, and Grampa (papa).
