Martha M. Havens, 88, of Scott NY, passed away September 25, 2011 at home. She was born February 16, 1923 in Dryden NY, daughter of the late Arthur and Helen Hulslander. Mrs. Havens was an area resident all her life. She was employed by Central Paper Box, Plummers, and most recently the Cortland Country Club. In her spare time she enjoyed crocheting and baking. She is survived by her husband Virgil Havens of Scott NY, daughter Bonnie Thompson of Scott NY, grandchildren Shawne (Brian) Standish, 1sg Lance (Deborah) Gross, Jeffrey Thompson, five great grandchildren, sisters Gertrude Montgomery of Cortland, Helen Gyle of Groton, Edith Corey of Cortland, Betty Lou Hulslander of McGraw, brother in law Hugh Havens, nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her siblings Merritt, Beatrice, Shirley, and son in law David Thompson, Sr. A calling hour will be held Friday 1-2 pm with a memorial service to begin 2 pm at the Wright-Beard Funeral Home Inc., 9 Lincoln Ave Cortland NY.
