Mary R. Munn 83, of Cortland passed away unexpectedly September 7, 2011 at the Cortland Regional Medical Center. Mrs. Munn was born June 7, 1928 in Binger, Oklahoma the daughter of the late George L. and Alene B. Rosser. Mary met her husband Gordon Dale Munn while he was stationed as a corporal at Ft. Sill Oklahoma. They married on St. Patricks Day 1951 and celebrated their 60th wedding anniversary this year. Mary graduated from Anadarko Oklahoma High School, attended St. Anthonys School of Nursing in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma and completed her LPN at Ithaca School of Nursing now known as TC3. She worked for several years at Cortland Nursing Home and was a compassionate and caring nurse. She will be greatly missed by all who loved her. Mrs. Munn is survived by 5 children, Sherrye (Don) Cook of Caledonia, Lori (John) Burns of Cortland, April (John) Calale of Homer, Gil Munn of Lake Dallas, TX, Brett (Peggy) Munn of Jamesville, 6 grand children, Alissa (Felix) Medero, Corrye (Megan) Vancaeseele-Cook, Casey Burns, Kassidy (David) Ryan, Kellen Calale, Nickie (Derek) Fredenburg, Brittany (Kyle) McCown, Dylan Calale and Connor Munn. She also is survived by 6 great-grandchildren Noon, Matthew and Sophie Medero, Liam and Natalie Burns, Kaya McCown and awaiting the arrival of a 7th, Molly Fredenburg. She is also survived by her sister-in-law Jane Glover, brother-in-Law Gary (Pat Kirk) Munn, several nieces and nephews. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Monday at 11:00 am at St. Margarets Church in Homer interment will follow in Glenwood Cemetery in Homer. A prayer service will precede the Mass at 10:15 am at the Wright-Beard Funeral Home, 9 Lincoln Ave, Cortland. Friends are invited to call on Sunday at the funeral home 4:00-7:00 PM.
