The whole Condie family mourns the loss of this great man and wonderful neighbor for many years. Living next to the Masterpaul Camp gave us soooo many memories of Charlie and his adoring family... evening boat cruises on Skaneateles Lake, enjoying Charlie as he lovingly watched his grandkids grow up, jumping off his boat house, Gilda's fried dough, Charlie's almost yearly battle of the bees (he usually lost), projects in the woods, and laughter; always LAUGHTER! What a legacy for all who knew him..... bundles of fun loving memories.... Thanks Charlie for the gifts! Vicki Condie MacTavish

Dear Linda and Chuck,
Gene and I extend our sincere love and sympathy to you all. As I reflect back, CHARLES HAIRDRESSERS will always be part of my life. Charlie hired me right out of beauty school. He had little faith in what the school offered, so he taught me his way, to give a good shampoo, make a lasting finger wave and ?his way? for making a perfect pin curl.
During working hours his secret word was zubida, zubida (I kept the secret).
I have so many funny stories:
One time at our shop picnic at the cottage he was determined to teach me how to swim. Repeatedly he kept pushing me off the dock. With roaring laughter he said, "Jo, you either swim or sink." I learned how to swim all in one day.
Then there were our Christmas parties, when he introduced me to Manhattans and "his eggnog" (Thanks, Charlie.)
At the hair shows we attended in Syracuse, Buffalo and NYC he enjoyed telling how he held the bag for me, as I get very air sick.
It's too long to tell about the time he booked a home hair appointment for me? He said, "Take my Cadillac," and by mistake I took someone"s Chevy and ended up in the police station. He bent over with laughter every time he told that story.
I had a wonderful relationship with both your Mom and Dad. So many fun-loving memories! I will always treasure their friendship. The years I worked for Charlie were some of the best years of my life. Sorry we cannot be with you during this sad time. Our thoughts and prayers will be with you all.
May you find some measure of comfort in the good times you shared together of which there were many. He was a loving father and grandfather and a great provider. Many hugs from us both.
Jo and Gene Mironti
Chuck and Linda, I was so sorry to hear about your father passing. My brother just sent the clip from the paper. I have always thought so much about Charlie. I have never forgot how much he helped me when I lost my father so many years ago. It will be great to hear from both of you. Once again I am very sadden and is truly a greater loss to me than you will ever realize. Sincerely, Eileene
Charlie will always be in our thoughts.. He had such a love of life and we always had the feeling that he wanted everyone else to love it as well. The "party boat" was Charlie. As part of the next generation we learned a lot about family and friendship from him and from Gilda. Thank you, Charlie and thank you, Gilda. You are in our hearts forever. Mary Jo and John Amatruda
