Carolyn A. Chace, 76, of Cortland, NY, passed away August 26, 2011 at Cayuga Medical Center. She was born April 18, 1935 in Sommerset, Mass., the daughter of the late Raymond and Helen Trembley Butler.
Mrs. Chace was a communicant of St. Margarets Church, Homer; she enjoyed gardening, making crafts and spending time with family.
She is survived by her sons and their spouses Norman and Sheila Chace of Cortland, Thomas and Barbara Chace of Homer, Harold and Michelle Chace of Moravia, Timothy and Debra Chace of Locke, her sister Helen (Rudy) Ouellette of Fall River Mass., and seven grandchildren.
Carolyn was predeceased by her husband Norman, siblings Joan Upperman, Andrew Butler, nephew Alan Ouellette and brother-in-law James Upperman.
Calling hours will be Monday evening from 4-6 pm at the Wright-Beard Funeral Home, Inc., 9 Lincoln Ave., Cortland, NY.
A funeral service will be celebrated 11:00 am on Tuesday at the funeral home.
Burial will be at the West Hill Cemetery, Homer, NY.

Your Mother Carolyn was a long time friend, growing up together in Somerset, Village. I wish that Delores and I were able to go back and visit Carolyn again. We enjoyed our visit but With illness in the family it just couldn't happen. Sending our deepest synpathy and prayers to her family. Louise Simcock
