James Jim DeLuna, 42, of Groton NY, passed away suddenly June 24, 2011. He was born April 14, 1969 in Long Island, NY. Jim was a graduate of Mattituck High School, Long Island, in 1987. He came to the area about five years ago and began working for the Cortland County Highway Dept. In his spare time he enjoyed hunting, fishing, cooking, and riding motorcycles. His greatest joy was his children. Jim is survived by his children Jessica and Jimmy along with his wife Betty DeLuna of Moravia. Also survived by his mother Evelyn DeLuna of Riverhead NY, his father Vito DeLuna of Southold NY, his brother Robert DeLuna of Manhattan NY, grandmother Martha Grosse, aunts, uncles, cousins, and special acquaintance Lisa Walling of Groton NY. Jim was predeceased by his brother Edward DeLuna in 1998. Calling hours will beWednesday 4-7 pm at the Wright-Beard Funeral Home Inc 9 Lincoln Ave Cortland NY 13045. A funeral service will be held Thursday 10 am at the funeral home. Burial will follow at the St. Marys Cemetery, Cortland NY.
