Robert K. Miner 78, of Homer passed away May 31, 2011 in Syracuse, NY
Bob was born September 13, 1932 in Cortland, the son of the late Kenneth and Myrtis Brandow Miner.
He proudly served his country with the US Navy.
Bob had been employed by Smith Corona for over 37 years, and had been past chief of the Spafford fire department, Past President of the Cortland Kiwanis , Past Town Supervisor for the Town of Scott, Sr. Warden for the Grace Episcopal Church, and adjunct professor at TC3.
Bob is survived by his wife of 45 years Eleanor Miner of Homer, daughter Rebecca
(Daniel) Merritt of Cortland, his son William Miner of Florida , brother Bruce Miner of Arizona, grandchildren Rachel Caden , and Mason Daniel Merritt. of Cortland
His brother in law Harold (Astrid) Walker of Lisle, sister in law Dorothy Arnold of
De Ruyter, 3 nieces and 4 nephews.
Calling hours will be held Friday evening from 6-9 pm at the Wright-Beard Funeral Home.
Memorial services will be held Saturday at 11:00 am at the East Homer Methodist Church with the Reverend Nelson Stafford officiating.
Anyone wishing to make a memorial contribution in Bobs name is asked to consider the East Homer United Methodist Church or the National Kidney Foundation.
