Obituary of Grace M. Lindley

Grace M. Lindley 90, of Cortland passed away February 4, 2011, in Cortland Regional Nursing Facility.
Grace was born April 30,1920 in Jamaica Long Island, New York the daughter of the late George and Alice Corrigan Kemble.
Grace had been employed at the Greenbrier Home for Adults in Homer for several years, and had previously been employed at the A&P, Cortland Memorial Hospital, Zayres, and Marietta Corporation.
Grace was a member of the American Legion Auxiliary, Past President of the VFW Auxiliary, and enjoyed reading, sewing, watching soap operas, gardening and doing puzzles.
Grace is survived by her children George ( Bobbi) Lindley of Sherman Texas, joseph Lindley of Indian Trail N.C. Richard (Louann) Lindley of Seymour, TN, William Lindley of Holiday, FL, Frederick Lindley of Cortland, Donald (Carol) Lindley of Schenectady, Wilma Ann Bliss of Cortland. Many grandchildren and great grandchildren.
In addition to her parents Grace was predeceased by her husband Maurice F. Lindley, brothers Edward, Robert and Howard Kemble, sister Dorothy Chartrand, grandsons Robert Lindley and Teddy Bliss.
Memorial Services will be held 1:00 pm Monday at the Wright-Beard Funeral Home 9 Lincoln Ave. Cortland, with the Reverend Richard H. Lindley officiating.
Interment will be in Arlington, National Cemetery.
Friends are invited to call from 12:00 -1:00 pm prior to the service.

Grace is a place of sunshine in my memories. When she worked for my dad at Vern's IGA on Owego St. she was always the one who was first to supply the smiles and good nature. A wonderful person. I am priveledged to have known her. Carl Moses
