Ira E. Poke Hitchcock, 54 of 4349 Sweeney Rd., Cortland, passed away November 18, 2010 at the Cortland Regional Medical Center surrounded by his family. Mr. Hitchcock was born August 15, 1956 in Cortland the son of the late Eugene and Mary Willcox Hitchcock Sr.. Poke had been a lifelong resident of the area. He had been currently employed at Pall Corp. in Cortland. Poke was an avid outdoorsman who enjoyed hunting, fishing and being a member of the Woodchuck Hill Hunting Club. Mr. Hitchcock is survived by his wife Leslie Christy Hitchcock, his step children, Kyle, Cori and Kala Christy. Two daughters; Jennifer (Matthew) DeHart and Jessica (Jay) Forbes One brother Buddy Hitchcock of McGraw , Three sisters; Debbie (Dave) Hobart, Terry (Vaughn) Eldred and Tammy (Les) Chace all of Cortland. Several Aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews. Poke was predeceased by his parents and his sister Dorothy Hitchcock. Friends are invited to call on Sunday afternoon 1:00- 3:00 PM at the Wright-Beard Funeral Home, 9 Lincoln Ave, Cortland. A brief time of sharing will follow the calling hours at 3:00 PM.
