Marjorie W. Tobin,78, of 35 Charles St., passed away at home, surrounded by family October 22, 2010. Mrs. Tobin was born July 14, 1932 in Blossburg, PA the daughter of the late Clayton and Anna Porter Woodard..
Mrs. Tobin had been a longtime resident of the area. She retired as a realtor, and co-owner of Tupper Real Estate. She was a communicant of St. Marys Church, a member of the Catholic Daughters and had been a Eucharistic minister. She had served as a past president of the Cortland County Board of Realtors, past president the Womens Auxiliary of the Homer American Legion, member of RSVP and a longtime member of the Merry Wives bowling League. Marge was a very loving and devoted wife, mother, and grandmother and friend to many and will be sadly missed.
Mrs. Tobin is survived by her four sons; John P., Kevin B., Timothy E. (Andrea) and Thomas (Andrea) all of Cortland. One daughter Theresa (Melvyn) Drake of Cortland. Her daughter in-law Vickey Tobin of Cortland and sister Clara Ann (Eugene) Bragg in Alabama. Her grandchildren; Travis (Lauren), Jared (Jennifer Dineen) and Ryan Drake, Jason Tobin, Tara (Brad) Nottingham and Erin (Dickie Kilts) Tobin, Brittney (Brandon Galutz) and Jenna Tobin, Maddison and Lily Tobin. Four great grandchildren: Kendrin, Evan and Dillon Drake and Anna Nottingham. Several nieces and nephews
Mrs. Tobin was predeceased by her husband Kenneth A. Tobin in 1998 and her son Kenneth A. Jr. in 2006. Brothers, Richard and Paul and sister and brother-in-law Virginia and George Paddock.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Wednesday at 10:00 AM at St. Marys Church. A prayer service will precede the mass at 9:30 am at the Wright-Beard Funeral Home, 9 Lincoln Ave, Cortland. Interment will take place at St. Marys Cemetery, Cortland. Friends are invited to call on Tuesday 4:00-7:00 PM at the funeral home.
