Marjorie Margie Ardis 85, of Cortland passed away October 8, 2010 at the home of her daughter. and son in law.
Margie was born July 14, 1925 in Columbus, Ohio, the daughter of the late Waldo Emerson and Marea C. Quigley Southard.
Margie was a communicant of St. Marys Church and a member of the Legion of Mary.
She spent her growing up years in the Bronx, and had worked retail and for IBM for several years. She was a devoted mother and grandmother. She was affectionately known as the Hat Lady.
Margie is survived by her daughter Catherine (Gene) Casterline of Cortland, her grandchildren, Christina (Daniel) Darling of Cortland, John (Katina Peroulakis) Casterline of Cortland her great-granddaughter Lauryn Darling, several nieces and nephews.
Margie was predeceased by her husband John Rebel Ardis in 1998 and her son Marty Ardis in 1976.
A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated 10:00 am Monday at St. Marys Church
Interment will follow in St.Marys Cemetery. At Margies request there are no calling hours.
