Obituary of Norma V. VanSlyke

Norma V. VanSlyke of Maine, NY and formerly of Homer passed away Sat. Aug. 21 at her home surrounded by her family. She was born March 11, 1921 in Cuyler, NY, the daughter of the late Robert and Radie Gilbert Carson Hinkle. She was raised and educated in Cuyler. She worked at Smith Corona for many years until her retirement. Her memberships included Women of the Moose and the Homer Methodist Church. In her spare time she loved to bowl or work with her hands crocheting and other crafts. Norma is survived by her son Gary (Rena) of Cortland, daughters Sherry (Clarence) Harris of Maine, NY, Barbara (Michael) Savlik of PA, sister Neta Neff of DeRuyter, 7 grandchildren, 10 great grandchildren, nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held 2 PM Wednesday at Wright-Beard Funeral Home, 9 Lincoln Ave., Cortland. Interment will follow at Glenwood Cemetery . A calling hour will be held 1-2 PM prior.
