Obituary of Kathleen J. Burhans

Kathleen J. Burhans, 65, of Summerhill NY, died suddenly July 5, 2010. She was born January 10, 1945 in Cortland NY, the daughter of the late Howard and Martha Matijas Becker. Kathleen was a resident of the Sempronius and Summerhill areas all her life. She was involved with operating the family dairy farm and was employed at SUNY Cortland, ASC, for approximately 20 yrs. Being an active dairy farmer, she was a member of the Holstein-Friesian Association. She also attended St. Anthonys Church of Groton. She is survived by her husband of 42 yrs. Donald Burhans of Summerhill, son Lon (Christine) Burhans of Moravia, daughters Kerry (Robert) Case Jr. of Moravia, Beth (Donald) Burhans Marsh Jr. of Cortland, brother David (Vicky) Becker of Moravia, 7 grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and cousins. Calling hours will be Thursday 11 am-12:45 pm with a funeral to begin 1 pm at the Wright-Beard Funeral Home Inc 9 Lincoln Ave Cortland NY. A graveside service will be held Friday 11 am at the Sand Hill Cemetery, Dresserville NY. Contributions may be made to Dresserville Bible Baptist Church.
