Jerry L. Hoyte 69, of Cortland passed away July 4, 2010 in the Groton Nursing Facility. Jerry was born April 20, 1941 in Binghamton, the son of the late Theodore and Thelma Bailey Hoyte. He served his country with the US Air Force from 1958-1960. He had been employed as a mechanic for several yeas, sold auto parts, and had taught auto mechanics at the New Castle School of Trade in New Castle PA. Jerry is survived by his daughters Lisa, Melody and Michelle, his sister Maxine (Lonnie) Butler, his grandchildren , several nieces and nephews, his friend and caregiver of several years Jerry Griffin. In addition to his parents Jerry was predeceased by a special nephew Rick Butler. Graveside services will held 11:00 am Friday at Cortland Rural Cemetery .
