Obituary of Carol A. Buchalla

Cherished mother, grandmother and friend, Carol A. Buchalla, age 70, died at Upstate Medical University on July 12th after a brief battle with lung cancer.
The daughter of Raymond and Katherine Haynes, she was born on September 25, 1942 in Syracuse. She cleaned private residences for majority of her life, but also worked for a short time at Cornell University, Smith-Corona and Haskell Tools.
Mrs. Buchalla enjoyed playing BINGO and visiting and winning at the Turning Stone Casino with her siblings. She loved dancing, listening to country music and enjoyed local entertainment. Mrs. Buchalla also enjoyed spending time with friends and family.
She will be dearly missed by her children, Michael A. Buchalla, and companion, Kristy Alberry, Virgil; Steven (Elly) Buchalla, Dryden; Lisa Buchalla, and companion, Jason Strauf, Cortland; Brenda Buchalla, Cortland; Kathy (Paul) Larmon, Earlville; her sister, Linda Fuller, Cortland; her brother, Jerry (Mary) Haynes, Cicero; her former husband, Ronald Buchalla, Cortland; dear friend, Jason Landsdowne, Cortland; 13 grandchildren and 8 great-grandchildren; many nieces, nephews, close friends and her dog, Brownie. She is pre-deceased by her parents and her sisters, Judy Smith, Utica, and Dawn Bergman, Homer.
Calling hours will be held on Wednesday, July 17th from 4:00-6:00pm followed by a service at 6:000 pm at the Wright-Beard Funeral Home Inc., 9 Lincoln Avenue, Cortland, with a private graveside service at Cortland Rural Cemetery later in the week.
