Obituary of Francis G. Irving

Francis G. Irving, 85 of Cortland passed away June 18, 2010 in Cortland Regional Medical Center. Francis was born August 11, 1924 in Cortland, the son of the late Harry and Helen Keefe Irving. Francis served his country with the U.S Army 75 th Infantry Division in the European Theaterduring WWII, and was awarded the Bronze star. He was a communicant of St. Marys Church, and a life time member of the Cortland VFW, American Legion, and DAV. He retired from the Cortland Post Office after 27 years of service. Francis is survived by several nieces and nephews and his sister in law Mary Irving. Friends are invited to call Thursday 10:00 €“ 10:30 AM with a prayer service to begin 10:30 AM at the Wright-Beard Funeral Home. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Thursday 11 am at St. Marys Church. Anyone wishing to make a memorial contribution in Francis name is asked to consider St. Marys Church 59 N.
