Mary A. Fenner, 82, of Jewett Ave., Cortland passed away May 5 at University Hospital in Syracuse. She was born July 17, 1927 in Summerhill, NY, the daughter of the late Jerome and Pauline Duff Beard. She has been a lifelong resident of Cortland. Mary graduated from Cortland Central High School in 1945. She then married her late husband Leslie Fenner. Mary was a stay at home mom for a short time, before going to work at Cortland Memorial Hospital. She then went on to work for Harris Cleaners, which was later changed to Tyler Cleaners where she remained. She was a longtime member of the Homer Congregational Church. Mary also enjoyed tending to flowers and gardening. Mary is survived by her daughter Susan (Donald) Grant of McDonough, 3 grandchildren Jason, Sarah, and Aaron, and 2 great grandchildren Elizabeth and Connor. A funeral service will be held 2 pm Saturday at Wright-Beard Funeral Home, 9 Lincoln Ave., Cortland. Interment will follow at Willow Glen Cemetery in Dryden. A calling hour will be held 1-2 pm prior.
