Yvonne F. Vonnie Cole, 62, of Cortland NY, went to be with the Lord April 12, 2010 at her home with family by her side. She was born August 3, 1947 in Cortland the daughter of Donald and Lavonia Brookes French.
Vonnie was an area resident all her life attending schools locally. She was a longtime member of the First United Methodist Church of Cortland serving as former President of the Trustees. Over the years, Yvonne began her working career as proprietor of Lunch and Go, then worked at Ponderosa, King Sub, Catholic Charities of Cortland, JM Murray Center, and for the past ten years worked with her sister as co-proprietor of DeColores Hand Dyed Fabrics traveling the northeast participating in quilt shows.
She is survived by her husband James Cole of Cortland, sons James D. Cole of Portland Oregon, Andrew (Kymberley) Cole of Newport News Virginia, mother Lavonia French of Baldwinsville, sister Donna Lee (Michael) Collins of Pennellville NY, brother James French of Cortland, grandchildren Allyson, Samantha, Andrew II, Kiara, nieces and nephews.
Yvonne was predeceased by her father Donald French and brother John French.
Calling hours will be held Sunday April 18, 1-3 pm with a memorial service to begin 3 pm at the First United Methodist Church of Cortland, 734 Rt. 222, Cortland NY, 13045.
In lieu of flowers contributions may be made to the First United Methodist Church Memorial Garden.

I most sincere sympathy goes out to Vonnie's family, particularly our wonderful friend Lavonia. Our memories of Vonnie at the Skateland are many and she will surely be missed.
