Ina C. Randall, 87, formerly of Morningside Dr., Cortland, passed away January 1, 2010 at the Cortland Regional Medical Center, surrounded by her family. She was born March 6, 1922 the daughter of the late William and Isabel White Randall.
Ms. Randall had been a lifelong resident of Cortland. She was a graduate of St. Marys High School class of 1940. She had worked for the County of Cortland Election Office from 1943-57, St. Marys Church as secretary from 1958-67 and for the City of Cortland as Deputy City Clerk from 1968-84 retiring in March of 1984. After retirement she had enjoyed working for Harts & Flowers She was a communicant of St, Marys Church, member and past president of St. Marys Alumni Assoc., member of St. Marys Altar and Rosary Society, past member of the Executive Board of the Salvation Army, 65 plus year member of the Catholic Daughters of America and had been the oldest living member, past member of the Business and Professional Women and the Zonta Club as well as the National Secretarys Assoc.
She is survived by her sisters Christine Brown of Cape Coral, FL, Linda (Jim) Glover of Cortland, Mary Lou (Jud) McCarthy of Boca Raton, FL., Virginia (Robert) Ackley of Richford, Grayce (Peter) Costantini of Syracuse and Anne Doyle andC. Edward Brackett with whom she had been residing on Lincoln Ave. Brothers Bill E. Randall of Lapeer, David (Lil) Brown of Cortland, Jon (Ethel) of Tennessee, special cousins; Constance (Christopher) Pendleton, Charles (Sabrina) Brackett, Mary (Edward) Applegate, Matthew (Karla) Brackett and Colin Brackett, also her beloved dog Cassie.
Ms. Randall was predeceased by parents, grandparents, brothers Thomas and Alan, aunts and uncles and her special cousin, Peggy Doyle with whom she had lived for 75 years
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Wednesday at 12:00 PM at St. Marys Church. Interment will follow in St. Marys Cemetery. A prayer service will precede the Mass at 11:30 A.M. at the funeral home. Friends are invited to call on Tuesday from 5:00-8:00 PM at the Wright-Beard Funeral Home, 9 Lincoln Ave, Cortland, Those wishing to make memorial contributions in Inas memory are asked to consider St. Marys School, 61 N. Main St., Cortland or the charity of ones choice.
