Obituary of Raymond Leo Bolton

Raymond Leo Bolton 85 of Cortland passed away on Friday November 20, 2009 in Cortland Regional Medical Center, after a brief illness.
He was born July 8, 1924 in Belize, British Honduras. As a young man he lived in Mexico City where he worked as a bookkeeper.
In 1959 he moved to San Diego, California with his new wife Margarita. He became a citizen of the United Stated and raised his four daughters, in Levittown, New York.
In 1980 he and his wife moved to Cortland, where he enjoyed a second career working in the J M Murry Center.
Raymond was an active member of St. Anthonys Church serving as a trustee: a member of the Parish Council and Chairman of the Annual St. Anthonys Festival, he also lectured and sang in their choir.
After his retirement in 1994 he enjoyed visiting his grandchildren and working in his garden. He was an avid reader, loved music and family gathering. A devoted father and husband he will be greatly missed by all.
Ray is survived by his wife of 55 years Margarita, his four daughters: MaryAnn Bolton, Theresa (Steven) Berkowitz, Shelley (Nicholas) Tarantola, and Lilly (joseph) Westbrook
and 7 grandchildren.
A Memorial Mass will be celebrated 11:00 am Tuesday in St. Anthonys Church 50 Pomeroy St with the Reverend Carlo Stirpe officiating. Interment will follow in St. Marys Cemetery.
