Obituary of Patricia Griffith Feuss

Patricia Griffith Feuss, 71, of Homer, NY, passed away September 30, 2009 at University Hospital, Syracuse, NY while undergoing treatment for Leukemia. Patricia was born on March 29, 1938 in Orange, NJ. She was the daughter of the late Louis and Verna Fitzherbert Griffith and wife of the late James V. Feuss. Pat and Jim moved to the Cortland/Homer area from NJ in 1970. Pat earned her teaching degree from Cortland State University in 1974 and was a substitute teacher for several area schools. More recently, she was employed by Cortland Memorial Hospital. She was an active member of the Homer Congregational Church, their choir and Leisure Hour. She was also a long time patron of Cortland Reperatory Theatre, serving on their Guild in the 1970's. She loved to travel and visit family and friends. Her greatest joy was spending time with her grandchildren who were the apples of her eye. Patricia is survived by her daughter Lisa Feuss (Francis) Ballard of Larchmont, NY, sons Carl (Cindy) Feuss of NJ, James (Cheryl) Feuss of Kennebunk, ME, grandchildren Taylor, Henry, Ellen, Andrew, Patricia and James, brother Charles E. (Belle) Griffith, of Panama City, FL, several cousins, nieces, nephews and many dear friends. Patricia was predeceased by her husband, James V. Feuss in October 2000. A memorial service will be held on Saturday, October 17, 2009 at the Homer Congregational Church with Reverend James Ziobro presiding. The family will receive guests from 11-11:30 am at the church. The service will begin at 11:30. Burial will be Sunday, October 18, 2009 at the First Presbyterian Church's Cemetery in Succusunna, NJ at 3:00 pm. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Homer Congregational Church (PO Box 221 Homer, NY), Hospice Foundation of Cortland Co., 11 Kennedy Pkwy, Cortland NY 13045or Phillips Free Library in Homer (PO Box 7, Homer, NY). To the family of Pat I give my condolences. I worked with her for several years at the hospital. I will miss her sunny disposition and am saddened by the loss.
