Helen M. Holl, 70, of Cortland passed away July 25, 2014 at home with her loving family at her side.
Helen was born August 9, 1943 in Syracuse, the daughter of the late Leo and Agnes Sheehan Maher.
Helen had been employed by the Cortland City School District, and was a volunteer librarian for St. Mary’s school.
She was a communicant of St. Mary’s Church, an avid golfer, seamstress and quilter. But most of all, she enjoyed spending time with family, especially her grandchildren.
Helen is survived by her husband Richard Holl of Cortland, her children Michael (Melissa) Holl of Cortland, Kevin (Linda Molinaro) Holl of Toms River, NJ, and Colleen (Jack) Harbold of Cicero, NY.
Her brothers Frank Maher of Truxton, Jack Maher of Plattsburg, Vincent Maher of Lafayette, Bernard (Margaret) Maher of Truxton, Thomas (Kathleen) Maher, of Skaneateles, sisters Therese Maher of Dewitt, Mary Maher of Dewitt and Kathleen Davidson of Fayetteville.
Her grandchildren Kayla, Allison, Connor, Emma Holl, and Elizabeth and Kathleen Harbold.
In addition to her parents Helen was predeceased by her brothers Joseph, James and Robert Maher.
A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated 10:00 am at St. Mary’s Roman Catholic Church with Fr. Joseph Zareski presiding, interment will follow in St. Mary’s Cemetery.
Friends are invited to call from 4-7 pm Sunday at the Wright-Beard Funeral Home 9 Lincoln Ave. Cortland.
