Obituary of Grace L. Biviano

Grace L. Biviano, 92, of Cortland, passed away September 1, 2014, in the Cortland Regional Nursing Facility.
Grace was born March 12, 1922, in Cortland, the daughter of the late Dominick and Maria Giuliano Mantella.
Grace had been employed at the Market Basket and A&P Market in Horseheads, NY, from 1943-1946.
In 1947 she and her late husband John owned and operated Biviano's Market and in 1960 Biviano's Stop 'N Shop. After retiring from the grocery business in 1973, she began her 30 year banking career at the Cortland Savings Bank.
Grace was a communicant of St. Anthony's Church and a member of the Altar Society.
Grace was proud to be the founding member of the local "Bean Picker's Reunion" and the "Women of Castel Forte Italy Dinner" that are held locally each year.
Grace was a member of the Cortland Memorial Hospital Auxiliary.
Grace is survived by her sons: Marty (Donna) Biviano of Massillon, Ohio, Larry (Teresa) Biviano of Cortland, her grandchildren: John (Joanie) Biviano, Maria (Joe) Griffin, Tony (Sara) Biviano of Ohio, Michael (Becky) Biviano of Cortland, Amie (Dylan Campion) Biviano of Marcellus, great –grandchildren: Nicollette and Abigail Biviano of Cortland, Ayden and Collin Campion of Marcellus, Dominic and Joey Biviano and Alena and Raelyn Griffin of Ohio, her sister Rose Caprilozzi of Syracuse, several in-laws, nieces, nephews and cousins.
In addition to her parents, Grace was predeceased by her husband S. John Biviano , brother Andrea Mantella, and sisters Lena Ciampi and Mary Charles.
A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated 10:00 AM Friday at St. Anthony's Church 50 Pomeroy St. Cortland, with Fr. Joseph Zareski presiding. Interment will follow in St. Mary's Cemetery.
Friends are invited to call Thursday evening from 5-7 pm at the Wright- Beard Funeral Home 9 Lincoln Ave. Cortland.
In lieu of flowers memorial contributions in Grace's name may be directed to the Cortland Regional Nursing Facility (Cedar Run Unit) 134 Homer Ave. Cortland, NY 13045
