Uncle Pete, Pete, and Mary Pat,
I am so sorry for your loss...Aunt Mary was one of a kind and the greatest memory I have of her was her contagious laugh. That always sticks out in my mind. I will always remember the XMas parties on XMas eve over at Darby Farms when we were kids. Those are very happy memories that will always stick with me when the whole family was together and having one helluva time. Pete and Mary Pat- even though we don't see each other very much at all as I'm 700 miles away, I have never forgotten you guys and I still feel like I know you guys as well as if I was there all the time. Your mom always greeted me with a smile and a laugh and I will always think of her in that way. I know this is a tough time for you guys but please know I am thinking of you both and I love you guys and the whole Riley clan. I have told so many stories about The Uncle Pete and you guys to my kids and friends down here that I think they almost feel like they know you guys. Even though we have moved apart, you 'The Rileys' will always be in My family and I am proud to be a part of it!!!
Love You Guys... RIP Aunt Mary-- you were always a Joy to be around..

Sometimes it takes two, Fairport Youth Lacrosse Thank YOU parents.
June 13th 2015
Families thank you for the gift and attending SWR small end of the year party.. Your kids played hard and we coaches were proud as hell of each and everyone of them. You all demonstrated great support and sportsmanship. We were lucky to have your kids and I was lucky to have Mike W and Mark Stuver help coach. When you see the slogan Once A RAIDER ALWAYS A RAIDER THINK OF THEM.
My first game at St Rose North Syracuse 2nd grade playing hoops I will never forget it. My dad was a truck driver and his job was highly important to our family. The game was during the week while he was working, he showed up at the game. Of course he drove the 18 wheel truck dressed in his drivers uniform . When he was asked why did you leave work to attend the game ? He reported where the hell was I suppose to be my kid was playing ball. My MOM was already in the stands.
GO SWR
This is the last of my 3 emails I felt like sharing . I was so happy that my dad made to so many events and more often than not Im sure we reported his presence was important. My mom was at everything and took care of almost everything . Like many moms my sister Mary Pat my wife Lara its just what they do . Sacrifice , Forgive , Love , Care and being KIND to people. Myself like many dads we tend to roll up big trucks, make countless sales calls, teach our kid to be tough , don't quit and in the Riley family don't take any crap from anyone. When I have difficult times like now I think of them both my strong DAD telling me your tough as nails. My mom telling me its ok be kind forgive. We need them both and thats what my mom made sure we had Thanks Mom , Dad Lara and Mary Pat.

Thinking of my mom and dad.
I wanted to share this email of what I consider the most important thing any parent can give the kids they raise. This was a end of the year thank you to the parents for the coaches gift Fairport Youth Lacrosse
June 14, 2014
Thanks for the very generous gift along with the super card with the kids name on it. it means a lot to me and Im very thankful. We were lucky to have your kid on our team this year. You parents were terrific. PLEASE be proud of your kids. Have a nice safe summer enjoy and relax. As I turned 45 and I look back on my playing days which included football , basketball and lacrosse since before the 5th grade. The one thing that I keep in mind and heart is just how much my blue collar family gave me mom and dad. It could not be bought , borrowed or stole... It was the time my parents spent with me . Simple time...

I am heartbroken about Mary's death. She was my friend for 64 years; ever since I moved to "beautiful downtown Harford" in 1951. I spent a lot of time at the Jewett house between 1951 and 1959. She had a wonderful family and I treasure my memories. We shared so many adventures and laughs - nobody could laugh like Mary. We were going to have lunch together on Friday; instead I will be attending her funeral Mass. Rest in peace, dear friend. I will miss you for the rest of my days.

To Mary's son and daughter, grandchildren and family, sorry for your loss. I worked with Mary for over 20 years at BMS, we had the best group of women. We had children around same age, and did a lot of camping together. She was a wonderful person, kept us laughing all the time. She will be missed.

Dear Pete,
You don't know me. I met you when you were just a baby. I worked with your Mom at Continental Telephone in Liverpool for a few years. When they moved out of state Mary and I both went to new jobs and lost track of each other. Even after all these years, I still remember her well. She had the best sense of humor and could always make me laugh. I still remember her bright red hair and I can still hear her laugh which was infectious. She was a good friend to me. I am so sorry for your loss. God Bless you and your family.

While I never had the good fortune to meet Mrs. Riley I have had the good fortune of getting to know her son, Pete. He is a fine young man which is a direct reflection of the value sets that she instilled in her son. I know she will be missed by everyone that she touched.
God bless the Riley family during this very difficult time.
Respectfully,

Mary Riley MY MOM I LOVE YOU
These are some emails that I sent out to the families of the kids I was lucky enough to coach the last several years in Fairport NY . I wanted to share these as we move forward with family and friends.
MOMS 2014 FAIRPORT YOUTH LACROSEE Mothers Day Weekend
Dear Families
As we approach this weekends tournament I wanted to share a few thoughts with all the moms. As many of you know I played a lot of sports and was even lucky enough to go to college and play lacrosse. Ive had many different coaches and influences over the years. Im very lucky. We always try to encourage your kids and find something each game and practice that they should be proud of. I'm sure I've yelled at them a time or two encouraging them to try harder.
I remember my mom Mary Riley being at many many games as I grew up. I had coaches that yelled at me and as I grew older set boundaries on what is and is not acceptable. I made many mistakes and mishaps on and off the fields/courts. After the games my mom seldom had any harsh words for me AND NORMALLY SHE REPORTED YOU DID GOOD. If the coach who was MOST OF THE TIME RIGHT yelled to much ( THE COACH WAS ALWAYS A JERK)
sometimes i actually felt bad for the coach. I've encouraged all you parents to attend as many games as you can. The kids won't say it now but its important to them. I can still hear my mom yelling press and poke , press and POKE !!!!! Im not really sure what she meant but as I look back on those days I was sure happy as hell my mom was in those stands.
GO FYL

Remembering sweet, precious memories of Mary from long ago. My Mom, Pat Edmonds, and Mary were friends, and the Jewett and Edmonds Family had many fun times together beginning in Harford, NY. I can remember as a child riding in the milk cans down the conveyor belt at the creamery. Remembering with you a beautiful Lady who touched the lives of so many, and leaves us with priceless treasures in our hearts. Where she was, laughter was found :)

To Mary's beautiful family,
We are so sad and shocked to read about Mary's passing. She was one in a million, and we shared so many fun times with her throughout the years. We're so glad we were able to see her a couple years ago in Cortland. We had a wonderful time and shared many laughs and memories from the Bristol days.
She'll always be missed but will be in our hearts forever.
