Schuyler W. "Bill" Dillon, 91 of Homer NY, passed away on January 3, 2016 at Cortland Regional Medical Center. He was born in East Syracuse, NY on July 13, 1924 a son of the late Schuyler and Mary O'Connor Dillon. Bill was a graduate of Homer Academy and a four letter athlete he also played baseball for the United States Army on the West Coast during World War II before going to the South Pacific where he served in New Guinea, Morotoi, and the Philippines. After the war he learned the barber trade and operated his own shop for 26 years, then worked at SUNY Cortland retiring in 1989. Recently he has been a courier for Cortland Regional Medical Center. He was a member of St. Margaret's Church and the Homer American Legion for over sixty years. Bill is survived by his wife, the former Janice Ayers, daughter in law Shirley Dillon, grandchildren Scott (Erin) Dillon of Hilliard OH, Adam Dillon of Jamestown NY, Andrew Dillon of New Orleans LA, Kolya Zabler and Cait Zabler of NJ, two great grandchildren Amelia and Eleanor Dillon of Hilliard OH, his brother James Dillon of Homer, several nieces and nephews and cousins. In addition to his parents he was predeceased by his children Michael, Steven, John Dillon and Anne Zabler. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated Thursday 10 am at St. Margaret's Church, Homer, NY, with Fr. Paul Alciati presiding. Burial will follow the funeral service in St. Mary's Cemetery, Cortland, NY
