Obituary of Roberta M. Lash
Please share a memory of Roberta to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
Roberta Marjorie Puderbaugh Lash died at Cortland Park on March 4, 2016, nine days before her 91st birthday. Daughter of Charlie and Eva Puderbaugh; sister to George, Gordon, Mary, Vera and Alice; wife of Laurence C. Lash; mother of Laurence D. [Patricia] Lash, Donald S. [Joyce] Lash and Nancy L. [Douglas] Purcell, Jr.; grandmother to Lindsay [Mack], Stephanie [Michael], Bradley, Julie [Chris]; and great grandmother to Curtis, Clark and Grace. She was predeceased by her grandson, Brian D. Purcell, her husband Larry and all siblings except Mary. Roberta is survived by numerous friends and family members. The family is especially grateful to Brenda Gorman for the love and care she has given our parents.
Two years after graduating from Virgil Central School High School, Roberta graduated from Morrisville with a degree in Home Economics. She worked at the Home Dairy until Larry returned from WW II and renewed a courtship that started in the 5th grade. Nine months after the start of her 69 year marriage, her family was increased by one. As Roberta’s family grew, so did her love. Family, friends, neighbors ... you were all welcome, especially in her kitchen.
You may have known her as Mrs. Lash during her 25 years as the Cafeteria Lady at Alton B. Parker Elementary School. Or she may have been your Sunday School teacher at the First United Methodist Church. Perhaps you purchased her famous dinner rolls at a church fundraiser. We know she made the best chocolate chip cookies, and could whip out three pies in a heartbeat. Maybe you have a crocheted blanket to remember her by; we know her hands were always busy!
