I’m a customer of Sheridan’s Jewelers. I live in Ithaca, but found Chuck’s kind and caring demeanor as well as high standards to be good reason to bring my business to him. I’m sorry for this loss to his family and community. I’m thankful to have met him. He made me feel like it was well worth my time to drive over from Ithaca to see him.

Hard to believe that last Tuesday I stopped and purchased a bracelet he had placed in the safe back in July. We had a nice visit where I told him I was getting myself an early birthday present, he said he had a birthday coming up that Saturday. We wished each other a happy birthday. I will remember him when I wear the few pieces I obtained from the store. Mrs. Sheridan, I feel bad I was not available to tell you in person how sorry I am about your loss. May the good memories sustain you.
Sincerely,
Miriam

Dear Cheri & family-Can't believe Charles is gone to be with the angels! My fellow classmate and reluctant dance partner in high school will be missed by all who had the distinct pleasure of knowing him. My husband Jim and I said a Divine Mercy Chaplet for him and donated to the foundation listed. I didn't know how to mention that it was in Chuck's memory. I think he lived with this hanging over him with great courage and faith. God bless him and all of you.

My sincere sympathy to you on the loss of your loved one. I want you to know how impressed I was by Mr Sheridan's gift of solar eclipse glasses to the Cortland community last year. I was able to obtain a pair from his store when they weren't available anywhere else and they were free! It was so impressive to view the eclipse. How kind of him to do that for people he didn't even know. I sent a letter to the editor of the local paper thanking him publicly but it was never printed. Apparently "thank-you"s must be paid for now, which I didn't realize until much later. I want his family to know that a stranger really appreciated his caring gesture. I'm sure you will miss him terribly but you can take comfort in the fact that he was very special.

The Sheridan Family,
I am sorry for your loss. I visited Chuck this summer when I was in town and got a big hug and warm welcome from him. We exchanged some wonderful stories about people, vacation destinations and jewelry.
I will miss him. He was a jeweler you could talk to and exchange ideas with, but most of all he was a friend to may people.
God Bless Maureen Stack Hartley

I am so sorry to hear of Chuck's passing. He was an amazing man and he will be missed. I enjoyed stopping at his store and it won't be the same to not see him greet all of us when we walk in.
I also enjoyed the stories he told and his kindness. Now when I look at my jewelry that I bought from him, I will remember the times he would say now Penny this is not an everyday ring to wear so do not wear it while working in the PE equipment room at the college. Rest in Peace Chuck.

I am deeply saddened to hear that Chuck has passed, with his aggression towards life I believed we would be friends for a very long time as we were even planning more to complete on his projects. Chuck was a special person he loved people and easily showed it up front, with a pleasant demeanor and always adding a smile. Here is a little something I always like to RE READ and it fits Chuck well ....
At birth we boarded the train and met our parents, and we believe they will always travel on our side.
However, at some station our parents will step down from the train, leaving us on this journey alone.
As time goes by, other people will board the train; and they will be significant i.e. our siblings, friends, children, and even the love of your life.
Many will step down and leave a permanent vacuum. Others will go so unnoticed that we don't realize they vacated their seats. This train ride will be full of joy, sorrow, fantasy, expectations, hellos, goodbyes, and farewells.
Success consists of having a good relationship with all passengers requiring that we give the best of ourselves.
The mystery to everyone is: We do not know at which station we ourselves will step down.
So, we must live in the best way, love, forgive, and offer the best of who we are.
It is important to do this because when the time comes for us to step down and leave our seat empty we should leave behind beautiful memories for those who will continue to travel on the train of life.
I wish you a joyful journey on the train of life Chuck. Reap lots of GOD,s love. More importantly, thank God for the journey.
Lastly, I thank you for being one of the passengers on my train.
God Bless
Glenn M. Litz

I am broken-hearted to hear of the passing of my dear friend. It was only five days ago I received an IM from Chuck asking me "When are you coming back home?" I responded that I would see him in May next year.
Now, he is "home" with the Lord and I am saddened deeply for Cheri and the rest of the family. I pray that God's extended hand to you at this time will console each of you.
Chuck shall be missed by many. He was a great man and a true friend. R.I.P bud! We shall meet again.

Our deepest sympathy to Cheri and the rest of his family. Have known Chuck for many years through purchasing items and just being a friend. A nicer man would be hard to find. My grand daughter just started renting an apartment from him and on the first day of school he walked her son Calvin to the bus. Informed the bus driver to take good care of him and then gave Calvin money for ice cream. That's the kind of man he was. RIP my old friend.

Chuck was the best boss that I ever had. I remember helping to move him into the A Louie Building. Which I told him he was going to do well there... Which he did ...I watched his business grow until i had to move on to full time employment. I wished he could have hired me full time as that was the best job I ever had ...loved it. He thought me a lot about jewelry. I remember selling a diamond ring to a man and wrapped an empty box by mistake .. I chased the man down the street. But couldnt catch up with him... Chuck just laughed and said dont worry he will be back....That was Chuck. I will truly miss him and wish him and his family the bestas they will be in my thoughts and prayers.

Truly truly sorry for your loss. In our home, Mr. Sheridan will be remembered as a very dear kind gentle man...with a twinkle in his eyes, and a contagious smile. The very treasured gold bands we still wear today, were purchased from Sheridan's 25 years ago.
