Obituary of Eric S. Prior

Eric Shoan Prior, 51, passed away on Tuesday June 25, 2019. Eric was born on May 23 1968 in Rochester NY. He was a graduate from Haverling High school in Bath NY, and later went on to study and graduate from Cortland State in 2017. Eric also proudly served our country in the US army. Eric leaves behind parents Herbert and Ira; his loving wife of 29 years Prudy; brothers Lamont and Sherman; sisters Angie, Candice and Christine; 6 sons Eric, Derek, Jordan, Donovan, Jonathan, and Isaiah; 2 grandsons Odin and Princeton; and many nieces and nephews. He worked for 15 years Louis Gossit Detention Center and was a Football and Basketball coach for Cortland high school and Elementary schools as well as a Football and basketball coach for Groton High School. Eric was also a CNY Heat Travel Basketball Team Coach. Taking care of his family was the most important thing to him. Showing everyone, he came into contact with selfless love beyond measure has made him a cherished pillar in the Cortland community. He found so much joy and pleasure in coaching and developing youth not only in their sport but teaching them valuable lessons in life that they all apply and helped them grow into strong minded individuals. Calling hours will be Sunday from 2 to 6pm at the Grace Christian Fellowship Church in Homer. Funeral Services will be at the church on Monday at 11am.
