Sam,
I think of you all the time - I’m glad for the time we had together. If I had a wish that I could give to you - it would be that you know you were loved and that your heart and soul rest in peace.

This is a very difficult time for Sammy's family and friends. This candle is from the StJohn family. Harlie relayed a lot of cute stories about Sammy. Her heart is heavy for the loss of a dear friend. Peace be with you and may God watch over your family.

Sammy was the kid that you could always pick out of a crowd just by noticing that thumb poking up as he walked by or sat on the other side of the cafeteria. He had such a liveliness about him that didn’t seem to match any other person in the room, he was just so welcoming to everyone and insisted on getting you to smile before he’d leave a conversation. Sure, we hadn’t been friends for very long or really even friends but Sammy made it feel like you had been friends since you were three. He always used to disturb his studio class by hijacking Wallace’s computer and turning on Metallica and following it up with “shhh. Don’t tell my sister” and we never did. There was a few times he also hijacked Wallace’s coffee and we let it happen, even Wallace because he’d just give that kind hearted smiled and say “thanks bro, I needed this” and wander off into the room with it. Sammy’s favorite thing to do was to pass around candy which earned him the nickname “cartel sam” at our lunch table and if he had a type of candy he knew you didn’t like he’d disappear and then return with a fresh supply from ms.reeds office to distribute. He made sure to feel everyone welcome and I think that’s why he’ll be missed most, because he was a friend to all. Rest In Peace sam, my condolences still go to his family and close friends.

Sam was always smiling and cracking jokes. He acted as his main goal in life was to make people smile. You could say something funny and he would have a quick funny remark to keep the joke going. He had these little things he would say all the time like “how you doing sweetie” or “here you go sweetie” he just wanted people to smile. Me and him were having a conversation about a week ago or so and I asked him what are your plans after high school and he said “I don’t know bro” but he said it confidently. He didn’t deserve to leave so early, he had so much more to live for. I wish we all told him exactly how much we truly love him. Whenever anyone will ever ask me about Sam all I will be able to say is he was a great person and friend. That’s the only way I know how to describe Sam. I’ve known Sam since second grade, when we got our yearbooks that year he took my yearbook and signed his name all over it in big letters covering the page, I told him to stop and he would just smile and keep writing and I just laughed. He was literally the best person. He always made me have a way to make me smile in school. I love you Sammy and you are greatly missed.
