We will miss being able to sit around the table and talking about his racing days, the races, the cars, the people and fun time he enjoyed. We will miss the jokes and laughter. We will miss teasing each other and laughing about stories we shared. Roy was always considered part of our own family. Roy will live on in our hearts and memories.

Heaven gained a wonderful angel. Roy was like a dad to me as I was a teenager growing up. I had this Ford Falcon ( Roy’s favorite)! I really disliked this car! It broke down all the time. I always called Roy and he was so gracious and came to my rescue more times than I can count. Never a complaint on his part just mine! We always had a running joke about Chevrolets versus Fords! He always busted on me for my great Ford car! Love and miss you Roy!

I’m going to miss this guy. He reminds me of my own grandfather. They were both farmers. Family meant so much to them. Pa Roy was the kind of person that would give you the shirt off his back. Weather it was ninety or nine. I remember after my mother after my mother passed. I ended up with her car. I didn’t need it at the time. I think Roy needed one so I gave it to him. He wanted to pay for it but I said no it was fine. He said thank you and drove it for a while. We went to his house one day and he gave Carol an envelope with money and told her to give it to me. I said what’s this. She said he sold the car and he wanted me to have half the money. Not many people would do that but that’s not the way he was. He did what he felt was right. I never forgot that.
Before our first son was born I told Carol I was going to name him Herman. Pa Roy got such a kick out of that. After he was born we went to Pa Roys. He said hi Hoimie. Carol said gramp and he just laughed. He liked picking of her about that. He was always so good to the great grand kids. Heaven got a good angel and we lost a real good man. ❤️
