James H. Condron, 95 of, Jamesville passed away on May 16, 2020. He was born on September 19, 1924 in Cortland, NY a son of the late John and Louise Hinger Condron. James was an Eagle Scout from Troop 10, Groton, NY. He graduated from Groton High School class of 1942 and served in the United States Marine Corps from 1942-1946. A veteran of the Pacific Theater of Operations he participated in actions in The Gilbert Islands, Majuro and Eniwetok in the Marshall Islands, Siapan andTinian in the Mariana Islands and Okinawa. He also served with the Second Marine Division during the Korean War. Mr. Condron graduated from the College of Engineering at Syracuse University in 1954 and was employed by Smith Corona for over 40 years. Prior to his retirement in 1994 he was manager of Plant Engineering, his last assignment being the Construction of the Smith Corona Plant in Tijuana, Mexico. He was a member of the Varsity Club of Syracuse University, The Orange Pack, Force Recon Association (USMC), Cortland Country Club, American Legion (Groton) and a charter member of the Stonehedges Country Club in Groton. Mr. Condron served on the Urban Renewal Committee under Mayor Joseph Mack, was Chairman of The Cortland County Sewer Agency and served on the Board of Trustees of the Cortland Memorial Hospital and was President for two years. James is survived by his wife Donna Costello Condron, Jamesville, one son, John Condron, Delaware, OH, two daughters, Susan Condron, Syracuse, Carrie (Roger) Hill, Bridgeport, WV, two step sons Charles Costello, Kirkville, Timothy Costello, Riverview, FL and a step daughter, Patricia Domres, Cicero, a sister in law, Joanne Condron, Cortland, and several nieces and nephews.
