I will miss you, Grams! I am glad that I could come visit you at lunch when I worked in Cortland. You told me great stories. I love the one of you jumping off your roof into a snowbank- you may have gotten a little stuck if I recall. We have such a lifetime of memories with Christmas at your house, walking to the store and the big green in town, living in your apartments at the "big house", the ice cream shop, and then your quiet time in the little house where you planned to grow old.
You taught me how to be loving, telling each of us how proud you were and what a great job we did. We can't forget the food and making sure no one was hungry and to top it off- apple pie!
You were a strong woman who made things work when most would have given up. You called me the banty rooster because I stood up for those in need. I learned it from you and this great family that you helped create.
I know how much you missed your mama and your son. I hope you are enjoying their company and eating apple pie with mounds of rich ice cream and drinking homemade wine.

Hi Gramma Sue,
I haven’t seen you in a long while. I’ve missed you. OK. I’ll take off my coat and visit a while. I want to thank you for inviting me into your family and treating me like I was your own grandson. You always made me feel loved. I am proud to say that my first real job was working at the Little Treat Shoppe. I have fond memories of clown sundaes, belly buster banana splits and working with you, Emma Ryan and the rest of the family. Do I want some more pie? No thanks, I’ve had enough. No Gramma, I do like pie. Especially your pie. Thank you for all the birthday and Christmas cards and presents you always remembered to send. I always looked forward every Christmas to those homemade rice crispy treats. It was so long ago when we use to gather at your big house in Cortland for holidays with all your kids and grand kids.
Thanks for welcoming my wife Di and my daughters Dagny and Freya into the family as well.
Well Gramma, I guess it’s time to say goodbye. I’m going to miss you so much! Please know that I will keep you alive in my heart and memories. Don’t worry, I won’t go without a hug and a kiss. You take care too. Please get some much-deserved rest and I’m sure I’ll see you around.
Yes, I’ll watch my step and I’ll drive careful.
With eternal love,
James Bush + family (Di, Dagny and Freya)

Sue was always very friendly and kind to me over the years we worked for the County, and would always buy whatever our son was selling for Scouts and other fundraisers. Later, when she had the Treat Shop she never used anything but the richest, best ice cream mixes and other ingredients, and we enjoyed many nice chats with her over generously-portioned cones and sundaes. She was unforgettable, and my deepest sympathies go out to her loved ones. So sorry, Arleen.

My dear Grams, gone home to be with the Good Ole Lord and my dad. I will truly miss you, talking to you, drinking coffee with you and having your delicious apple pie! My happy place is sitting on the davenport, drinking coffee, with the business news on the TV and solving the world’s problems. “If only they would put us in charge”. That memory is as vivid today as if I was still sitting there. I will cherish every memory! Thank you for them all and for the unconditional love you gave me!
Your Grandson, David
