I was sad to learn of Nialnial'ss passing. Nial was a wonderful man, devoted husband and father as well as a man of strong Christian faith. I met Nial at Cornerstone Church in Cortland where I pastored for a few years. Nial and his beautiful wife Norma would lead our worship every week. We started a bit late Sunday mornings I was told do that Nial had a chance to clean up after an early morning of work on his dairy farm before coming to church. I visited their farm and originally being from the city was amazed at how much work it took to run a farm, and hard work it was. Nial always planted some sweet corn and allowed my family to come pick some every year. It was a wonderful time to or my three children. I believe you can tell the character of a man by the char,,acter of his children. Nial and Norma's children were hard working honest and caring men. Just like their parents. They are a tribute to Nial and Norma. Nial will be direly missed by all those who knew him

Sending prayers to the family for comfort and peace. I knew Nial and Norma Smith many years ago when I attended Elm Stump Church in Virgil, NY. Nial and Norma worked with the youth group, Peggy Kingsbury, the Langs, Ken Sebring and others. I have never forgotten how much their ministry meant to me. We met Nial and Norma through their son Kevin. We had the opportunity to spend time with them during a revival we held at their church. Our children enjoyed the farm and got to milk the cows. They were so sweet and hospitable. He had a sweet and gentle spirit. He surely was a wonderful Christian man. I’m so sorry for your loss.
