To the Dillon Family
The person I worked the most with in my 20 years in Cortland was Jim. We had the work connection ,the family connection, the community connection and the Irish connection he truly was a good friend. To all the family sorry for our loss.

I knew Jim and Prudie when I worked at Homer National/Key bank. Jim was always soft spoken, but
always friendly with a smile on his face. Jim's family were customers also of my father - the
milkman, who would stop and chitchat when he collected the weekly/monthly payment. Later on, I believe we had Jim to thank for "Bucky" - a sheep who ended up living on my parents dairy farm!
I think Jim won Bucky some how and Prudie said "what are we going to do with it?" "Bucky" lived a somewhat happy life for many years. He also helped keep the lawn mowed. So thanks Jim. Katie Quinlan

I came to the Cortland barn around 1990 to work on the tree crew. My first impression of Mr. D (Jim) was that he was intimidating. As I got to know him, I realized how kind he was. He would like to sit and chat, and for someone new, that meant a lot. I remember him kicking a rubber ball to me across the barn floor and yelling, "Hey, lad, see if you can't hit this target." He turned around, bent over and showed me his butt. That was my best pitch ever. He stood up, turned around and said, "Well, huh, great shot." This is one of many fond memories.
Our condolences and RIP Mr. D.

So sorry to hear of your loss. I have fond memories of him and Mrs Dillon growing up as their neighbor. I remember them sharing cheesecake specifically (oh the things that stick in a child's memory), and Mr. Dillon's laugh. Prayers are sent to you all during this time of remembrance.

Our Sympathy and Love to Jim’s Family, It was my pleasure to have worked with Jim as a Lineman… On many storms and “trouble calls” .
Contractor Lineman refer to lineman that work at a local “Garage “ their entire carrier as “Steady-Eddies “ ! Jim was much more than a Steady Eddie , He was a local boy he was well known and respected, he was an example to the young lineman of how to be a husband, father and a good lineman all at the same time…. With many fond memories, Rest In Peace, Good and Faithful Servant …. Jim&Lucy Murphy
