Clarice Irene Hawley, 107 of Cortland passed away on December 16, 2022 at Cortland Park Nursing Home and Rehabilitation. She was born on October 4, 1915 in McDonough, NY, a daughter of the late Floyd and Fannie Eccleston Austin.
Clarice attended Cincinnatus and Cortland School Districts. She came to Cortland when she was 10 years old. Clarice worked several manufacturing jobs, first at Crescent Corset, then Cortland Line Company and retired from Smith Corona in 1981. She enjoyed dancing, making shag rugs and sewing.
Clarice is survived by her two friends, Barbara Gallo and Darlene Stevens as well as several nieces and several great nieces and nephews, several step daughters.
Clarice is predeceased by her siblings, Carl, Esther, Charles, Claire, Arlene, Lynn, Floyd Jr, Louis, her son William R Dean Marks.
Private services will be held at the convenience of the family.
