Condolences to the Family,
Very sorry for your loss. Your dad was a good friend to The Hartley Family. All of us enjoyed spending time with Burt and Diane at the Pond in Summer Hill. His maple syrup was the best.

It is with sadness in our hearts to send condolences to Bert's Family. Bert was one of a kind and had so much to share with all he knew. He was such a hard worker, never resting. His stories will live in our hearts forever. He was a friend that will be missed. Rest in Peace Bert.

Sending my condolences to his family. Burt was my bus driver for many years. He always had a good morning and smile for each kid who got on the bus and every holiday and summer break he had candy and football pencil for us. I had the pleasure of seeing Burt a few years ago and even after all these years he recognized me. Rest in peace to my favorite bus driver

I sure will miss my friend Bert. He was always dabbling along at something. Thus I started calling him dabadalla. Just my nickname for him. Our buddy Dana called him Hey Bert. All good we all loved him. Last time I fished with him you really had to look out. When he would cast he would look straight ahead if you were behind him beware you best duck. Oh what fun we had. Helped building one of my grages wouldn't take pay just wanted to be my friend I could go on and on. Just to say I love you Bert I'll be thinking of you at the club tomorrow at breakfast. Se ya Dabadalla your pal Joe wood

Playing against you at the Scott pitch games was always a pleasure; and a lesson! My memory will always be of the likable, friendly you; that mostly won. And the Burt I saw at the McGraw Sportsmen's that did so much work for the club. Your memory lives on in many places.

In a Facebook comment to Julie Abdallah Hancock's announcement of her father's passing, Violet and I stated the following: "we love your parents and their passing saddens us. They were gracious and loving people, life long friends of ours. I am also deeply grateful for the care they provided to my parents. A final note. I have fond memories of both your grandparents and say that Burt and Diane carried forward (to their children) the legacies they received from their parents. God bless your family and the entire Allis, Abdallah, and (Ferris) families. John and Violet Nauseef.

I am so sorry to read of Burts passing. Gary and I have/ had several very good memories of your Mom and Dad. Burt could always make me laugh. I loved hearing his stories. Your Dad was an amazing man.
When Gary passed your father was one of the first to come to my house and give us words of encouragement and of course brought food.
Your Dad was a wonderful man.
