Grammie,
I want you to know that wherever you are, I hope you know how much you've meant to us all, especially me. I'm grateful that in this life, it was you who got to be my grandmother. You have been and always will be my biggest inspiration. You always looked at the positives and practicalities of any situation, and always had a saying to back it up. I can't thank you enough for giving me the love of reading that I have, my love of animals, and the patience and care to understand others and to try to help them the best one can. I'll always think fondly of all our Saturday morning phone calls, dinner time chats, our Murder, She Wrote marathons, the camping trips we took and the "treasures" we found while going garage sale-ing, picking berries and veggies from your garden, trying to help you with your crosswords - all of those memories will always mean the world to me. You always had a way about you that no how bad things got, you'd always remind me "Annie, tell yourself, 100 years from now, you won't give a damn." I will always remember you for your strength, tenacity, and most importantly of all, your selfless and gentle nature. I hope that wherever you are, that the sun is shining warmly, that you're cozied up with a good book and kitty cat, and that you're at peace knowing how much we all love you, especially me.
Love you forever and always,
Your Applesauce Annie,
Anna Rose

Doris was one of the most amazing women I have ever met.
She was kind, loving, and beautiful inside and out. If there was ever "the right one" in the universe for Doug and her family, it was Doris. I knew Doris through her husband, who worked at the NYANG with me.
Her love for all things living and devotion to family was noteworthy. Even though I was not family, she always treated me and my friends as family.
I will miss her very much.
