Obituary of Doris Mae Anthonson

Doris Mae (Brown) Anthonson passed away on June 14, 2023 at home with her husband Douglas by her side. Doris was born September 21, 1940, in Syracuse, NY; the daughter of the late Olin and Catherine Brown. Doris grew up on her family farm, graduating from Cazenovia High School in 1958. She worked as a secretary at Diemolding in Canastota, NY before marrying Douglas Anthonson in July 1963. They built their first home in Jordan, NY, starting their family. Their family moved to Cortland in 1972. While raising her children she worked as office manager for Double D Aviation. She went on to work as the office manager for ELS Limousine and Sedan in Cortland in 1995 before retiring in 2019. She will be remembered as the friendly voice answering the telephone and scheduling service with ELS. Doris loved her animals, quilting, embroidering, gardening, spending time with her family, and traveling with her husband. She was a very generous and loving person. She is survived by her husband Douglas Anthonson, her children Susan (Emil) Chambrone of Brewerton, NY, Dean (Mary Ellen) Anthonson of Celmenton, NJ, Ronald Anthonson of Cortland, Kenneth Anthonson and Lee Ann Goodridge of Cortland. She is loved by 14 grandchildren, 6 great grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews. Calling hours will be held on Monday, June 19th from 11am to 12:45pm at the Wright-Beard Funeral Home, Inc. with a funeral service to begin at 1pm.
