I worked with Joe in the Cortland Publication Office for 15 years. He was a wonderful boss and friend. I missed him when he retired but pictured him relaxing in Roxbury. Rest in Peace Joe

Joe was a close friend and colleague of my father, Norb Haley. They worked together for many years in the Public Relations Office on the 3rd floor of the Miller building. I remember stopping in to the office in my youth and Joe was always there with a smile and friendly word. Joe was a good friend to my father, even after they both had long retired. He visited my father in Schenectady the summer before he passed away and Joe shared with me how when they said good-bye to each other, they both knew it would be the last time they saw each other. Two good men, who served their families, their country, and their communities so well. My sympathies to you Katherine, David, Jenny and your families.

Dear Katherine, David and Jenny,
We were deeply saddened when we got the news of the passing of your Dad. While we mourn the loss of your Dad, we wish to celebrate a life well lived. He left a legacy of dedication and accomplishment.
We have fond memories of times past when we would see and be with him. We are reminiscent of when we were neighbors and shared many family gatherings and good times together. Dining out with your folks was often a fun time to catch up on family activities.
We know your Dad will be sadly missed.
Love and prayers are with you.
Gene and Sharon Signor

Joe and his wife Liz warmly greeted me and my wife Louise when we arrived in Cortland in February 1971 during an "old fashioned" cold and snowy winter. They invited us to their home along with our infant son Rory. That was 53 years ago. Since then we have enjoyed their company numerous times where we shared the doings of our repective children and grandchildren.
Around 1970, our VW Golf was in a repair shop in the Little Falls area. I asked Joe to drive me there and he graciously agreed. Joe was quiet, kind, and centered, and seldom had a harsh word about anyone. Sounds like the definition of a Christian in action. Joe was a good man.
