Ryan and Ali, to say your mom was proud of you is a BIG understatement. She loved to share news of what you were doing. You two were in the YMCA nursery school program. Nancy always had a smile and loved being part of the program by volunteering her time whether it be cleaning toys before the program started each year or giving ideas about what would be fun activities to carry out. Nancy did love teaching, and would attend after school educational programs to keep her education up to date. I loved her sense of humor and ability to make me smile. After Nancy retired, she worked at The Bling Store and would help me put together outfits that were fun to wear. She left this earth too early but she did it with courage. I'm sure that you will treasure her memory and the deep love she had for both of you.

Nancy was my 5th grade teacher at Marcellus Driver Middle School in 2000. She always said she saw something special in me and truly helped me through some tough issues that year and even for years to come. Just as the obituary says, she apparently saw more than just a kid in me and she led me to teaching. I dreamed of being a teacher from 5th grade on and it was all because of her.
I was lucky enough to stay in contact with her for the last 24 years- catching up, hearing about all the wonderful things going on in Ali & Ryan’s lives. She was so incredibly proud and happy for both of you! She loved her granddaughters- every time we were together I got to see pictures and hear stories- especially about how smart they are.
I can never thank her enough for all of her guidance throughout the years, her listening ear, her love, and her support. My heart is truly breaking knowing that she’s gone, but I’m so relieved she left on her terms and she is no longer suffering.
Just some cute quirky things I think all of her students will remember her by: don’t say “stuff”, “may I- not can I”, gummy bears (because she was our GBQ- Gummy Bear Queen), her obsession with Boyd’s Bears, hanging from the monkey bars when we won a challenge (by her knees!), The Rainbow Fish book, freezing in her room so we wouldn’t get sick, and of course- playing Jacks. She may have taught us academics but she also taught us how to care about and for others.
Love and miss you Nan❤️

Nancy was a lifelong friend from 1st grade up until now. We reconnected many times through the years and had lost touch recently but no matter how long we went without seeing one another we always treasured are special friendship!
I spent many times at her house when we were in grammar school.
Her Mother was my Girl Scout Leader. Such a lovely lady! When we entered high school we both drifted apart to different activities and friends, but always had that friendship that went on to this day.
Even though we lost contact we stayed connected through Facebook. I didn’t know she was ill and my heart is broken. I’m sending my love and prayers to her family during this very difficult time.
A few years back her best friend, Betsy, Nancy and I visited our old high school in Corning, New York, Corning Free Academy, before they turned it into apartments. What fun we had reminiscing about the old days!
RIP “Nanc”! I will carry you in my heart for always.
