My parents, Harry Lynn Widger and Edna May (Foster), and Uncle Harold and Aunt Shirley used to go on double dates together. And they were in my parents’ wedding. On one of those doubler dates, the guys decided to have a car race, and the girls refused to be in the cars with them. As I recall, Uncle Harold had to pull behind my Dad becuase of an oncoming car! So, there was no clear winner. I remember them laughing at themselves telling this story. If anyone knows more details about this memory, please feel free to add.

We will always remember all the great times we had with Uncle Harold and Aunt Shirley. They were always so kind and Uncle Harold watched over and helped so many in his family over the years. He was a wonderful man. Our prayers to all of the rest of our Foster family.

Shirley was one of my first Tupperware hostesses. Thereby I met my son-in-love, Don, when he was just a little rug-rat. Years later, Patriarch Harold's family grew when his son Don married my daughter Lisa. Then Harold and Shirley's family expanded further when Don and Lisa gave birth to Kendra and Rochelle, and then Chris and Kendra gave birth to Aubrielle ... who loves to play with Maggie and Sophie.
What memorable, good times we all had at the summer camp on Cayuga Lake! Swimming, boating, fishing, eating, eating, eating! Did I mention picnicking? :) Shirley's potato salad starred alongside Sharon Foster Snyder's famous baked beans. If you've misplaced your recipe, let me know. And let's ALL get together for a family picnic!
