Sandy and family, so very sorry to have read of Steve's passing. I don't get the paper and was going thru the obits of the Cortland Standard and was so shocked to see this. My condolences to you and your family. I know we haven't seen or talked in quite a few years but you both were great friends of yester year.My thoughts and prayers are with you all at this time.

Steve was Chairman of the County Legislature when I was a department head, and was always very tough, but fair. I could always talk with him and get a "fair hearing" about areas where we disagreed, and he would be amenable to change if I made my case. His leadership style would make a great template for local government leaders today. Beyond a working relationship and long after I retired he was a good friend that I could always count on for a good joke or a sympathetic ear and share stories that we could both relate to going back more than 40 years. His passing marks the loss of another great citizen of the Cortland community and makes the world a bit smaller for everyone privileged to have been gifted with his friendship. God bless and comfort his wonderful family.

So very sorry to hear of Steve’s passing. I knew Steve since high school when he worked at the music store with his dad. In later years, I was their ad rep; also worked on Steve’s ads when he ran for County Legislator. He was a genuinely great guy and will be missed. My heartfelt condolences to Sandy and their children.

I was so sorry to hear of Stephen’s passing. He did so much for me and he will be missed. Those years l Worked at the music store were special and remembered with a special smile. Sadly l will not be attending the services - l am fighting a miserable bout of the flu and thought it best to stay away from people. I send my love and condolences to the whole family. Steve was the best boss and cherished friend I could ever ask for. He touched my life in so many ways. He was the BEST Legislative Chairman ever. He was fair and knew exactly what this County needed. My condolences to Sandy, Kim, Becky, Matt, and the grandchildren. We have certainly lost a great man.
